Job Description

Execution of strain development activities by recombinant DNA/ Genetic engineering methods

Fermentation Execution

Planning and execution of projects related to strain engineering by pathway engineering/metabolic engineering for the production of small molecules.
Responsible for carrying out R&D projects independently.
Execution of projects which mainly involve cloning and expression of proteins in hosts like E. coli, P. pastoris and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Expertise in DNA construct preparation with Gibson DNA assembly method/Golden gate assembly and primer designing.
Day to day responsibilities may include literature review, planning and execution of experiments related to molecular biology like PCR, plasmid isolation, horizontal and vertical gel electrophoresis, western blotting, bioanalytical techniques (TLC and Enzyme assay), microbial culture maintenance etc.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate logbooks and daily activity sheets.
Follow SOPs and ensure adherence to EHS and GLP guidelines.
Support internal audits and inspections.

Support Activities

Assist in laboratory upkeeping and management.
Coordinate with upstream teams and downstream team.
Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
