Research Associate - Microbiology

Role:

Research Associate - Microbiology You will be part of our R&D team, contributing to impactful experiments and research efforts. This role offers hands-on exposure to sustainable bioenergy development and a chance to contribute directly to innovation in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

● Assist in Analytical method development and HPLC-based compound analysis

● Conduct microbial characterisation, microbial cultivation, strain screening, and sample processing ● Prepare culture media, buffers, and support analytical workflows

● Carry out microbial characterisation, including morphological, biochemical, and electrochemical profiling

● Identify and troubleshoot experimental bottlenecks

● Propose and take ownership of mini-projects or innovations within the scope of ongoing work

● Maintain well-documented, organised lab notebooks and data records

● Participate in the design and setup of new experiments based on project needs

What We're Looking For:

● Background in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related life science disciplines

● Prior experience or academic exposure to Microbial Electrolysis Cells (MECs), chemical assays, or microbial characterisation is highly preferred

● Demonstrated troubleshooting ability and a solution-oriented mindset

● Strong documentation habits and attention to detail

● Self-motivated and proactive individuals who are eager to learn, contribute, and innovate.
