You ll be our: Battery Test Engineer You ll be based at: IBC Knowledge Park, Bannerghatta Main Road, Bengaluru You ll be Aligned with: Reliability Lead - Product Validation You ll be a member of: Product Validation, Testing CoC. What you ll do at Ather: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures for battery packs based on product requirements, industry standards and internal specifications. Design and implement accelerated life testing (ALT) methodologies to predict battery lifespan and identify potential failure mechanisms within a compressed timeframe. Execute a wide range of reliability tests, including but not limited to: Temperature cycling and humidity testing Vibration and mechanical shock testing IP testing Cycle life testing under various stress conditions (high/low temperatures, high C-rates, deep discharge) Long-term storage and calendar life testing Environmental stress screening Abuse testing Set up and operate specialized reliability testing equipment and data acquisition systems. Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets from reliability tests using statistical methods and software tools (e.g., Weibull analysis, Python) Develop reliability models and predictions for battery lifespan and failure rates. Conduct thorough failure analysis on batteries that fail during testing to determine root causes and contributing factors. Document test plans, procedures, results, and failure analysis reports with clarity and precision. Collaborate closely with battery design, development, and validation teams to provide feedback on potential reliability concerns and recommend design improvements. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, testing methodologies, and advancements in battery technology. Contribute to the development and improvement of internal testing procedures and best practices. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment in the battery testing lab. Identify and troubleshoot testing equipment issues and collaborate with maintenance teams for repairs and calibration. Here s what we are looking for: Strong understanding of battery electrochemistry, performance characteristics, and failure mechanisms. Hands-on experience with battery testing equipment and data acquisition systems Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using tools such as Excel, Python, LabVIEW, or similar software. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. What You bring to Ather: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. 5-8 years of experience in battery testing and validation. ",\
