Job Summary:

The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment used in chemical manufacturing plants. The role requires ensuring smooth and safe operation of reactors, pumps, agitators, heat exchangers, utilities, and related systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical fitting, assembling, and installation of plant equipment.
• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance for pumps, valves, gearboxes, agitators, compressors, and utility systems.
• Inspect mechanical components, identify faults, and execute corrective actions.
• Align motors, shafts, and rotating equipment using precision tools.
• Maintain daily maintenance logs and report major issues to supervisors.
• Support plant shutdown maintenance and major overhauls.
• Ensure that all work complies with safety standards and SOPs.
• Coordinate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in good condition.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• ITI Fitter / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 25 years of experience as Mechanical Fitter in chemical, pharmaceutical, or process industries.
• Strong knowledge of pumps, pipelines, valves, heat exchangers, and mechanical utilities.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and use precision measuring tools.
• Good understanding of safety practices in chemical plants.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in agitator maintenance, reactor maintenance, and utility equipment.
• Basic knowledge of welding, fabrication, and machining.
• Ability to work under 12-hour shift operations.
