Refinery Operations In-Charge | PGM

Key Responsibilities:

Refinery In-charge should supervise daily operations, monitoring process parameters for efficiency and quality, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

This role requires a strong understanding of refinery processes, leadership skills, and the ability to troubleshoot operational issues. The in-charge is also responsible for coordinating with other departments like maintenance and QC, maintaining records, and writing reports.

Supervision:

• Manage daily refinery operations, monitor process parameters, and ensure production goals are met. Knowledge of precious metals refining and recovery.

Safety and compliance:

• Ensure the facility adheres to all safety, health, and environmental standards, and maintain a safe and secure working environment.

Staff management:

• Supervise and mentor staff, assign tasks, and ensure they are properly trained to perform their duties safely and efficiently.

Troubleshooting:

• Identify and resolve operational problems, implement process control systems, and respond to alarms and equipment failures.

Quality control:

• Monitor and perform quality assurance tests on product/process samples, and ensure product meets quality standards.

Coordination:

• Liaise with other departments, such as maintenance, quality control, and utilities, to coordinate activities and ensure smooth operations.

Reporting and administration:

• Maintain essential records, write detailed reports, and update process log books and reading sheets as required.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Technical skills:

• Deep knowledge of refinery processes, process control systems, and quality control procedures.

Soft skills:

• Strong leadership, people management, and interpersonal skills. Good communication and problem-solving abilities are also essential.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field, or a diploma in Chemical Engineering.

Experience:

• Significant experience (often 15+ years) in refinery or petrochemical operations.
