Seeking Firmware Experience Architect to work on HPE iLO (Integrated Lights Out) server management solution. HPE Integrated Lights Out Management is a flagship product in server industry leading embedded server manager for decades. It s one of the most profitable HPE product raking millions through its licensing revenue. iLO supports the complete lifecycle of all HPE ProLiant servers, from initial deployment to ongoing management and service alerting. As part of the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Servers group, this team is responsible for designing and developing iLO manageability firmware.
What you will do:
- Leads multiple project teams of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration.
- Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on software systems design and development.
- Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
- Provides domain-specific expertise and overall software systems leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
- Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software systems design organization.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.
What you need to bring:
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Typically 10 + years experience.
Core Competencies:
- Strong firmware / System development background with strong C/C++ development/debug skills.
- Strong in Embedded Linux/RTOS programming, OS Internals, memory management, IPC, thread programming and embedded application software development.
- Proficient in software development tools such as IDEs, compilers, debuggers, emulators, source control system and defect/ bug tracking systems.
- Prior work experience as a lead dealing with cross functional teams, partners / vendors, open sources and standards.
- Solid understanding of DMTF-REDFISH, Rest Based architecture.
- Good understanding of HTTP/HTTPs protocols. Experience/exposure to SNMP, IPMI, I2C, MCTP, NCSI protocol is a plus.
Other Skills:
- Strong leadership skills with focus on drive for results. It is an IC role.
- Person should have excellent understanding of Linux/RTOS OS internals and strong development experience.
- Server manageability experience will be a major plus.
- Fault tolerant systems and high availability is a plus.
- Extensive experience with multiple software systems design tools and languages.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience in overall architecture of software systems for products and solutions.
- Designing and integrating software systems running on multiple platform types into overall architecture.
- Evaluating forms and processes for software systems testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
