Position Overview:

R&D Assistant Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the development of new spice blends, seasoning products, and instant mixes, from concept to commercialization.
  • Conduct research on global spice trends, consumer preferences, and food formulations to ensure competitive product development.
  • Formulate and optimize products for taste, texture, color, and shelf life while ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and marketing, to bring new products to market.
  • Perform sensory analysis, quality testing, and shelf-life studies to evaluate product performance.
  • Manage product development timelines, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule.
  • Collaborate with suppliers for sourcing high-quality raw materials, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting production challenges related to spice blends and instant mixes.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and technical documents to communicate R&D progress and findings.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, food regulations, and consumer needs to drive innovation in product development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    11-13 years of experience in R&D within the food industry, with a strong emphasis on spice and instant mix product development.
  • Education:

    A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
  • Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of spice blending, instant mix formulations, and related food processing technologies.
  • Proficiency in sensory analysis, product testing, and quality control.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and labeling guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong project management abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
