Roles & Responsibilities: - A Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) in Diagnostic Radiology is responsible for ensuring the safe use of radiation in a healthcare setting, specifically in the use of diagnostic imaging equipment such as X-rays. Key responsibilities of a Radiation Safety Officer in Diagnostic Radiology may include: 1. Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to radiation safety in the use of diagnostic imaging equipment. 2. Providing training to staff on radiation safety protocols and procedures. 3. Monitoring radiation doses to patients and staff to ensure they are within safe limits. 4. Conducting regular inspections of equipment to ensure they are functioning properly and are in compliance with safety regulations. 5. Investigating and reporting any incidents or accidents involving radiation exposure. 6. Keeping abreast of changes in regulations and best practices related to radiation safety in diagnostic radiology. 7. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. 8. Maintaining records and documentation related to radiation safety activities and compliance. Qualification : - B. Tech (EC, E&TC, EE), B. Sc. Certified RSO Level 1. A successful Radiation Safety Officer in Diagnostic Radiology should have a strong understanding of radiation safety regulations, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a healthcare team environment. They should also have a keen attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals in the healthcare setting.
