Job Description

Job Summary:

The Quantity Surveyor and Planning Engineer will play a critical role in managing and controlling project costs, as well as ensuring that construction projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in both quantity surveying and project planning, with a strong background in construction projects, cost management, and project scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

Quantity Surveyor Duties:

  1. Cost Management:

    • Prepare and manage project budgets.
    • Conduct cost analysis and cost control measures.
    • Track and report on project expenditures and financial progress.
  2. Estimating:

    • Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities.
    • Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare estimates.
  3. Contract Administration:

    • Manage contracts and negotiate terms with contractors and subcontractors.
    • Prepare and review tender documents and contracts.
    • Evaluate and process variations, claims, and payments.
  4. Risk Management:

    • Identify and assess project risks.
    • Implement risk mitigation strategies.

Planning Engineer Duties:

  1. Project Planning:

    • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using project management software.
    • Define project scope, milestones, and deliverables.
  2. Scheduling:

    • Monitor project timelines and ensure adherence to schedules.
    • Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  3. Resource Management:

    • Allocate and manage project resources effectively.
    • Forecast project resource needs and ensure availability.
  4. Progress Reporting:

    • Prepare and present project progress reports to stakeholders.
    • Identify and communicate any potential delays or issues.
  5. Project Coordination:

    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Experience:

    • 5-7 years of experience in quantity surveying and project planning roles.
    • Proven experience in cost estimation, budget management, and project scheduling.
  • Skills:

    • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
    • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification Dip / BE civil is highly desirable.
  • Experience in handling works related high rise residential projects is advantageous.
  • Good hands on Experience in Auto cadd, MS Projects and MS office is must
