Job Description

1. Production Monitoring (3P Units & Own Facilities)

  • Conduct routine visits to third-party manufacturing plants and internal facilities.
  • Monitor adherence to approved production processes, formulations, and SOPs.
  • Verify batch preparation, ingredient handling, sanitation, and GMP compliance.
  • Identify process deviations and drive corrective actions with plant teams.
  • Ensure product quality consistency across all manufacturing partners.

2. Quality & Food Safety Compliance

  • Implement and enforce QA, QC, and food safety standards as per company guidelines.
  • Check hygiene practices, personal protective equipment usage, and plant housekeeping.
  • Monitor CCPs, and other process parameters as defined in SOP
  • Support audits (internal/external), CAPA follow-up, and documentation readiness.

3. Warehouse, Darkstores, Vehicles & Cold Chain Monitoring

  • Conduct inspections at warehouses and distribution points.
  • Check storage conditions, temperature logs, FIFO/FEFO adherence, and pallet hygiene.
  • Verify packaging integrity, handling practices, and movement controls.
  • Flag any cold chain deviations and ensure timely corrective measures.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily visit reports, deviation reports, and quality checklists.
  • Ensure compliance to process documentation, product specifications, and batch records.
  • Report non-conformances with clear observations and actionable recommendations.
  • Ensure updated records for audits and regulatory requirements.

5. Continuous Improvement

  • Suggest improvements in production and warehousing processes based on observations.
  • Support training of plant/warehouse personnel on hygiene, GMP, and product quality requirements.
  • Assist in validating new vendors, new 3P facilities, or new product trials when required.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical

  • Strong understanding of ice cream/dairy production processes.
  • Good knowledge of GMP, GHP, HACCP, and food safety standards.
  • Ability to identify process deviations and propose practical solutions.
  • Familiarity with cold chain handling, microbiology basics, and QMS documentation.

Behavioral

  • Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently during field visits.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Assertive yet collaborative approach while dealing with 3P partners.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Science / Food Technology / Dairy Technology (minimum required).
  • 24 years of experience in QA/QC roles in the ice cream or dairy industry.
  • Certifications in

    HACCP

    ,

    FSSC 22000

    , or

    Food Safety

    preferred.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to plants and warehouses minimum 60% travel PAN India
