Quality Engineer - Life & Annuities

Role & responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements for L&A products including Term, UL, Whole Life, and Annuities
• Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test data across functional, regression, integration, and UAT phases
• Develop automated test scripts for UI, API, and backend validation using tools like Selenium, Postman, and RestAssured
• Validate end-to-end policy workflows including quoting, issuing, endorsements, lapse, reinstatement, and claims
• Perform data integrity testing for billing, compensation, and document generation processes
• Collaborate with BAs, Developers, and Business SMEs to ensure coverage of regulatory and compliance requirements
• Test integrations with PAS (e.g., ALIP, LifeComm), document systems (e.g., xPression), and compensation tools (e.g., Callidus)
• Log defects, participate in triage calls, and support sprint testing cycles in Agile environments
• Contribute to test automation framework development and CI/CD integration
• Support production validation, hotfix testing, and QA sign-off for releases

Preferred candidate profile

• 5 to 10 years of QA/SDET experience with at least 3+ years in the Life Insurance & Annuities domain
• Strong knowledge of L&A product lifecycle: policy setup, underwriting, billing, claims, commissions
• Experience testing policy admin systems (e.g., ALIP, FAST, Vitech, McCamish, Ingenium, LifeComm)
• Hands-on experience with test automation with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG/JUnit, RestAssured or Postman for API testing, Jenkins or GitHub Actions for CI/CD test execution
• Proficiency in SQL for backend validations and data reconciliation
• Familiarity with tools like HP ALM, JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr
• Experience with test data management, synthetic data creation, and test environment configuration
• Understanding of insurance documents and correspondence testing is a plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with Agile teams
