Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Quality Control (QC) Analyst

Key Responsibilities

  • Analytical Testing:

    • Perform chemical and physical testing on

      raw materials, intermediate products, finished goods & packaging products

      using a variety of analytical techniques and instrumentation (e.g.,

      AIA, Oils, Fats, UV-Vis, Karl Fischer titration, dissolution testing, and wet chemistry methods

      ).
    • Execute testing in compliance with

      Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

      , Good Manufacturing Practices (

      GMP

      ), Good Hygienic Practices (

      GHP

      )and regulatory guidelines (e.g., ISO, HACCP standards).
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Accurately document all test procedures, results, and observations in laboratory notebooks and

      Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)

      .
    • Review and interpret data, calculate results, and generate Certificates of Analysis (CoA).
    • Report and investigate out-of-specification (

      OOS

      ) results and atypical events, assisting in root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Instrumentation and Maintenance:

    • Perform routine

      calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting

      of laboratory equipment and instruments.
    • Maintain the laboratory in a state of operational readiness, ensuring compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Method Support:

    • Assist in the transfer, validation, and qualification of new and existing analytical methods.
    • Author and revise QC SOPs and test methods as needed.
  • Compliance:

    • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with GMP regulations and internal quality systems.
    • Participate in internal and external audits as required.
  • Working Conditions:

  • Work in a laboratory or quality control environment.
  • May require working with chemicals, biological agents, or other hazardous materials.
  • May require working non-standard hours or shifts.

Qualifications Required

  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • Experience:

    1-3 years of experience in a regulated Quality Control or analytical laboratory environment, preferably in the B

    iotechnology, or food/beverage industry

    .
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient hands-on experience with major analytical techniques, such as

      volatile extracts, oils, lipids, protein tests etc..

      .
    • Solid understanding of

      GMP/GLP

      regulations and laboratory safety protocols.
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., FSMS, QMS, HACCP, ISO 9001).
  • Certification in quality control or a related field.
