Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the quality control and assurance function for both footwear and apparel divisions, ensuring that all products meet company, customer, and regulatory quality standards across factories, warehouses, and retail channels.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Leadership & Strategy

Define and implement the overall quality strategy for footwear and apparel categories.

Develop quality manuals, SOPs, and visual standards for all stages raw material to finished goods. Ensure consistent quality practices across factories, vendors, and franchise locations.

2. Inspection & Process Control

Supervise quality inspection teams across cutting, stitching, assembly, finishing, and packing stages. Monitor in-line and end-line inspection results and ensure immediate corrective actions.

Approve final shipments after random AQL checks and ensure defect-free dispatches. Oversee material inspection for leather, fabric, soles, trims, and accessories.

3. Vendor & Factory Quality Audits

Conduct regular factory and vendor audits to ensure compliance with company standards.

Evaluate vendor performance through quality rating metrics and provide feedback for improvement. Work closely with sourcing and production teams to qualify new suppliers.

4. Data, Reporting & Analysis

Maintain detailed quality reports, trend analyses, and defect data.

Identify root causes of recurring defects and drive CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions). Present monthly quality review reports to senior management.

5. Team Development

Train and mentor quality inspectors and floor-level QC executives.

Build a culture of quality ownership among production and warehouse teams. Set clear performance targets and review team output regularly.

6. Continuous Improvement

Initiate process improvement programs (Kaizen, Lean, 5S, etc.) in quality operations. Drive cost-effective quality enhancements without compromising standards.

Benchmark against best practices in the footwear and apparel industries.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Graduate / Postgraduate in Footwear Technology, Textile Technology, or Industrial Engineering.

Experience: 8–15 years in Quality Control / Quality Assurance, preferably in branded footwear & apparel manufacturing.

Strong knowledge of material testing, AQL standards, and export / retail compliance requirements. Proficiency in QC reporting, ERP / MIS systems, and documentation.

Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

Willingness to travel across factories and vendor sites in Eastern India.
