Quality Assurance Engineer

Summary

Responsible for testing a feature and or a small feature set with ability to work independently, break down problems and estimate time for quality related tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:
Break down problems and estimate time required for quality related tasksDemonstrate increasing expertise in application domain and functional areasApply various testing types and methodologies effectively during SDLCTake ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessaryApply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing TechniquesWork independently and delivers testing and use case creation which meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the projectWrite effective tests according to best practices so that crucial functional requirements are verified and tests remain valid when code is refactoredBegin to collaborate with development team in bugs fixing and build plansCollaborate with Quality Leaders in creating test plansImplement and configures testing tools and at times help junior staffImplement system-level integration testingBe skilled in core data structures and algorithmsDefine quality metrics, best practices and coding patterns, and provides deep expertise on the coding

Technical Expertise:

• Extensive experience in UI and API level test automation
• Must be able to develop automation for both backend and UI using tools (e.g. Protractor, Selenium, Rest Assured etc).
• Demonstrated experience and ability to write Java or Java Script code and/or shell scripts for the purposes of testing solution code (e.g., white-box testing).
• Experience testing Web applications and web services (SOAP/REST; Throughput, Performance under Load with JMeter, etc.)
• Experience with issue-tracking and agile project management systems such as Jira, Confluence, Rally, etc.
• Experience working in Windows environments.
• Experience working with virtual machines (VMs) as part of a test/integration infrastructure
• Experience with software builds, testing and continuous integration tools

Education Qualification

For roles outside USA:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with basic experience.
