QA/QC Engineer - Water Distribution Project - Shimla

Role & responsibilities

1. Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Management Plans (QMP) in line with company policies and client requirements.

2. Prepare and approve quality documents such as Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Work Procedures, and Material Approval Requests.

3. Review and approve concrete mix designs in line with IS codes, project specifications, and client requirements. Coordinate with ready-mix concrete (RMC) suppliers for delivery schedules, quality checks, and compliance with approved mix designs.

4. Supervise QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and site teams to ensure strict adherence to quality standards in construction and pipe laying works.

5. Conduct inspections and audits at various stages of construction and pipeline works, including excavation, pipe laying, jointing, backfilling, concrete works, structural, and finishing activities.

6. Liaise with contractors, consultants, and clients to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance. Highlight nonconformities and suggest corrective actions.

7. Monitor material quality by reviewing test certificates, conducting laboratory/site tests, and ensuring proper storage/handling.

8. Maintain NCR (Non-Conformance Report) and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) logs, ensuring timely closure.

9. Prepare a yearly training plan and conduct regular training and toolbox talks for site teams on quality practices.

10. Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly quality reports to management and client.

11. Maintain accurate and calibrated inspection tools and equipments for consistent measurements of operation of the inspection and testing records.

12. Drive continual improvement initiatives to enhance quality standards .

13. Ensure laboratory/site tests (soil compaction, density tests, cube tests, etc.) are conducted at proper frequency and results documented.

14. Prepare lab and verify material testing (concrete, steel, aggregates, soil, pipe materials, coatings, Pipes etc.) as per relevant codes internally and third party.

Management Review Meetings (MRM)

IMS:

1. Coordinate with QMS team in terms of IMS implementation.

2. Ensuring that processes needed for the Companys Integrated Management system are Established, Implemented, and maintained to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 Standard.

3. Co-ordinate and control Internal Quality Audits.

4. Initiate Project-wise management review meetings.

5. Ensuring the promotion of awareness of IMS and customer requirements

throughout the organization.
