We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Factory Manager to oversee day-to-day
operations at our furniture manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will manage
production planning, ensure product quality, maintain machinery, oversee safety
compliance, and lead a team of skilled workers to achieve operational targets effectively.
- Plan, schedule, and supervise daily manufacturing operations to meet production targets
and deadlines.
- Monitor production lines and coordinate with design and planning teams for smooth execution.
- Ensure efficient use of manpower, materials, and machinery.
- Maintain product quality as per company standards across all stages of production.
- Implement and monitor quality control processes and conduct regular inspections.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams to address non-conformities and ensure corrective actions.
- Manage and train a team of production supervisors, operators, and labor staff.
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and discipline of factory workforce.
- Drive team motivation and resolve shop-floor issues promptly. Inventory & Material
Management
- Coordinate with procurement for raw material requirements.
- Monitor and control material wastage, consumption, and stock levels.
- Ensure timely inward/outward of materials and finished goods.
- Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines and tools.
- Ensure safety protocols, statutory compliance, and housekeeping are followed.
- Maintain records of maintenance, equipment calibration, and safety drills.
- Submit daily/weekly/monthly production reports to management.
- Work closely with the design, logistics, and project teams for order fulfillment.
- Track factory performance metrics (output, rework, downtime, cost per unit, etc.).
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Sound knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes, materials, and machines
- Hands-on experience in managing modular furniture, woodwork, laminates, metal frames, etc.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and safety standards
- Ability to handle high-pressure timelines and large-scale orders
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, ERP, and production planning software
- Diploma/Bachelor's in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering or related field
- 8-12 years of experience in a furniture manufacturing unit (preferably modular/custom
furniture)
- Proven track record of leading factory operations, team handling, and productivity
management.
