QA Engineer

Role Overview

As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring product quality through a combination of strong functional testing and test automation. You will actively contribute to framework-based automation, identify quality risks early, and work closely with development and product teams to deliver reliable, high-quality software. This role is hands-on and execution-focused, with opportunities to grow into a senior quality engineering role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance & Delivery

• Design, develop, and execute test cases for functional, regression, and smoke testing
• Identify gaps, edge cases, and potential risks in product requirements and implementations
• Ensure test coverage aligns with business and technical requirements
• Actively participate in sprint ceremonies, providing quality-related inputs

2. Test Automation

• Contribute to automation frameworks such as BDD, TestNG, Hybrid, or similar
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium or Playwright
• Execute automated test suites and analyze failures to provide clear defect insights
• Collaborate with developers to ensure automation is stable and maintainable

3. Collaboration & Process

• Work closely with developers, product owners, and other QA members to ensure end-to-end quality
• Log, track, and retest defects using defect management tools (e.g., JIRA)
• Continuously improve testing approaches, tools, and practices within the team

Key Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• 35 years of experience in software testing (manual + automation)
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as BDD, TestNG, Hybrid, or equivalent
• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java, Python, or TypeScript
• Practical experience with test automation tools such as Selenium or Playwright
• Strong understanding of functional testing concepts and defect lifecycle

Testing & Quality Mindset

• Strong analytical skills to identify functional gaps and edge cases in products
• Ability to understand business workflows and translate them into effective test scenarios
• Solid knowledge of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies

Soft Skills

• Clear communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Willingness to learn new tools, frameworks, and testing approaches

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution
• Experience with API testing or basic SQL is a plus
• Prior experience working on medium-scale applications or products
