QA Engineer - Contract Role

Job Summary:

The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test strategies for our backend services and APIs. This role requires a strong understanding of software development lifecycle, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in API automation, performance testing, and working with modern cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement robust and scalable automated test frameworks for backend services and APIs using Java.
• Lead the development and execution of API test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Perform API performance testing to identify bottlenecks, measure scalability, and ensure optimal system response times.
• Utilize Postman client for manual and automated API testing, including scripting and collection management.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to understand system architecture, functional requirements, and identify potential risks.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback.
• Monitor and analyze test results, identify defects, and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Contribute to the improvement of QA processes, tools, and best practices.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Participate in design reviews and provide valuable input from a quality perspective.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, particularly in API testing, performance testing, and Kubernetes.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in complex distributed systems, leveraging Kubernetes knowledge.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with a strong focus on backend and API testing.
• Expertise in Java for developing automated test frameworks and test scripts.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing API automation strategies.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for deploying, managing, and testing applications.
• Strong understanding and experience with Backend Service Testing.
• Demonstrated experience in API Performance Testing, including tools and methodologies.
• Proficiency with Postman client for API testing and automation.
• Experience with various testing methodologies (e.g., functional, integration, regression, performance, security).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
