Role Description

This is a part-time remote role for a Python Hadoop Clustering Specialist. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining Hadoop clusters, developing and optimizing Python scripts, troubleshooting system issues, and ensuring the efficiency and scalability of distributed processing systems. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with data engineers and analysts to streamline workflows and support data-driven decision-making processes.

Qualifications

• 6+ experience in Python programming and familiarity with hadoop clustering
• Expertise in setting up and configuring Hadoop clusters, and experience with Hadoop ecosystems like HDFS, Hive, and Spark
• Skills in pyspark, system monitoring, and performance optimization
• Experience with distributed computing frameworks and managing large datasets
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with remote teams
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, pyspark or Azure is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Good written and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly
