Job Description

Primary Job Title:

Backend Python DeveloperRole & Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Python (Django/Flask).
Define and implement database schemas, optimise SQL queries, and manage data access with PostgreSQL or equivalent RDBMS.
Containerise applications with Docker and contribute to CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, tests, and deployments.
Write and maintain unit and integration tests, perform code reviews, and uphold engineering best practices for reliability and security.
Diagnose and resolve production issues, profile application performance, and implement optimisations for latency and throughput.
Collaborate closely with product, frontend, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver features on schedule and mentor junior engineers.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

Strong proficiency in Python and object-oriented design.
Hands-on experience with Django or Flask for building RESTful APIs.
Solid SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
Experience with Docker and working knowledge of CI/CD workflows and Git.
Proven ability to deliver production-grade backend services with a focus on performance and reliability.

Preferred

Experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, ECS) or other cloud platforms and container orchestration.
Familiarity with background job systems / message brokers (Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ) and observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
