Python Developer

Core Responsibilities

• Develop robust Python applications for risk analytics and scenario generation.


• Collaborate with traders, risk managers, and quantitative analysts to gather requirements and deliver efficient solutions.


• Build and maintain data pipelines for large-scale risk calculations using

  Numpy

  ,

  Pandas

  , and other scientific libraries.


• Integrate risk models with SQL-based data stores and ensure optimal query performance.


• Develop and maintain

  unit tests (Pytest)

  and

  functional tests (Cucumber/Gherkin)

  for model validation and application reliability.


• Work in an

  Agile environment

  , participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD).


• Design and expose

  REST APIs

  for risk calculation services and reporting.


• Implement automated workflows and deployment pipelines, ideally using

  Azure DevOps

  .

• 5+ years of hands-on Python experience

  , including:
  
  
  
  • Object-oriented programming (Classes)
  
  
  • Advanced Python features (lambda expressions, list comprehensions)
  
  
  
  


• Strong experience with

  Numpy/Pandas

  for numerical and data analysis.


• Solid understanding of

  SQL databases

  and query optimization.


• Solid experience with

  Pyspark



• Familiarity with

  SDLC tools

  (source control, code review, CI/CD pipelines).


• Experience writing

  unit and functional tests

  for complex systems.

• Exposure to

  Trading Front/Middle/Back Office

  workflows, ideally in

  energy or commodity markets

  .


• Experience working on

  globally traded markets

  and physical commodities.


• Prior work on

  Beacon

  ,

  Athena

  ,

  Quartz

  , or similar risk platforms.


• Knowledge of

  risk metrics

  (VaR, CVaR) and regulatory frameworks.


• Understanding of

  derivatives pricing

  , volatility modeling, and scenario analysis.
