Python Backend Engineer

As a Senior Engineer, you will be expected to demonstrate expertise in both backend and frontend technologies. You should have a strong proficiency in Python and FastAPI for developing microservices, as well as a solid grasp of TypeScript and Node.js for creating GraphQL/RESTful API interfaces. Your role will also involve working with cloud technologies and infrastructure applications. Hands-on experience with AWS and proficiency in Terraform are essential. Additionally, you should have a working knowledge of Kubernetes and Argo CD for deployment and troubleshooting purposes. In terms of CI/CD and observability, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining GitHub Actions pipelines and implementing OpenTelemetry for effective monitoring and debugging of systems. System design plays a crucial part in this role, where you will be expected to design and own specific microservices, including APIs, data models, and integrations. Quality and testing are paramount in your responsibilities. You will be leading robust unit, integration, and end-to-end testing efforts and conducting code reviews. Mentorship is also a key aspect of this position. You will guide junior engineers and lead technical discussions related to the development of features. Prior experience in the financial sector is preferred for this role. Proficiency in the mentioned technologies such as Python, FastAPI, TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes/Argo CD, GitHub Actions, OpenTelemetry, and testing methodologies is required.
