Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and resourceful Purchase Officer with strong expertise in China purchase management and supply chain operations for a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in vendor development, negotiations, import documentation, and ensuring timely procurement of materials from Chinese suppliers to meet production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire procurement cycle for goods sourced from China, including vendor identification, negotiations, order placement, and shipment follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Chinese suppliers to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely deliveries.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain, production, and quality teams to forecast material requirements and avoid production delays.
  • Handle import-related documentation, customs clearance processes, and compliance with international trade regulations.
  • Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and pricing to achieve cost savings.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations and finalize purchase orders as per company policies.
  • Track shipments and resolve any logistical or supply chain issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and generate purchase reports for management review.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 4–5 years of experience in supply chain management in a manufacturing company, with at least 2 years handling China purchase operations.

Preferred Skills required

  • Strong knowledge of international procurement processes, incoterms, and import documentation.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills (Mandarin knowledge will be an advantage).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in supplier audits and quality assessment.
  • Familiarity with freight forwarding, shipping terms, and customs regulations.
