Purchase Manager

Roles & Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies for sheet metal, machining, and fabrication materials.

Review and analyze indents/requisitions and prepare purchase plans accordingly.

Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers/vendors for sheet metal parts, raw materials, and consumables.

Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and contracts with vendors to ensure cost savings.

Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels to avoid shortages and overstocking.

Coordinate with production, quality, and stores departments for smooth material flow.

Lead and guide the purchase team for daily activities including MIS reports, supplier follow-ups, and order processing.

Ensure compliance with company policies and approval hierarchies for purchase requisitions and orders.

Generate cost analysis reports (cost savings, discount tracking, etc.) for management.

Resolve issues related to delayed deliveries, quality concerns, or supplier disputes.

Continuously explore alternate vendors and new sources for cost competitiveness and better quality.

Drive vendor audits and evaluations in coordination with the quality team.

Ensure ERP/Database entry of all orders, vendor details, and procurement records.

Support new product development (NPD) by sourcing sheet metal and related parts. Key Skills & Requirements:

Strong knowledge of sheet metal, machining, and fabrication processes.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills. Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Office, and purchase-related reporting. Leadership ability to guide and manage a purchase team.
