Job Description

Role Overview: As a Procurement Specialist, your primary responsibility is to establish procurement strategies for the acquisition, receiving, and tracking of project materials in order to optimize quality, cost, and timely delivery. You will collaborate with the procurement head in negotiating contracts and lines of credit with suppliers and subcontractors. Key Responsibilities: - Optimize the material and supplier portfolio to determine which materials should be bought in bulk and consumed as needed from inventory by projects, and which materials are best acquired as needed for specific projects. - Prepare procurement execution plans and oversee the full array of materials management and procurement functions including purchasing, expediting, receipt and inspections, and logistics. - Manage and be accountable for overall warehouse operations, execution site stores, and supply chain logistics as a reporting manager to the warehouse team. - Develop plans for the effective organization and temporary storage of project materials and general inventories at various company and/or project locations. - Assign invoices to appropriate accounts and monitor in-house inventory for project consumption. - Conduct research to identify potential suppliers through various channels such as the Internet, catalogs, trade publications, and trade shows. - Interview prospective suppliers to determine prices, discounts, terms, etc. - Create spreadsheets with vendor and product/service comparisons of prospective suppliers to support management decisions. - Support, and in some cases lead, cost reduction efforts. - Monitor and support returns, damage replacements, and warranty claims. - Prepare and review all comparisons for purchasing orders. - Coordinate with the warehouse on minimum and maximum stock levels. - Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices. Qualifications Required: - Strong negotiation and influencing skills. - Client orientation. - Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset.
