Purchase Engineer

As an Assistant Purchase Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the procurement process, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and supplies. Your technical expertise and negotiation skills will be instrumental in driving the success of our projects.

Responsibilities

1. Procurement and Supplier Management:

• Handle the Purchase-to-Payment cycle, including raising purchase requisitions, supplier selection, analysis, and PO release.
• Develop negotiation strategies and award contracts for capital goods, fabricated materials, and equipment and services.
• Source capital items, services, and spares for maintaining factory machines, prioritizing cost efficiency.
• Procure project-related raw materials and bought-outs such as motors, gearboxes, VFDs, control panels, valves, and sensors.
• Identify and leverage new opportunities, new suppliers, and standardized specifications to improve supply contracts.
• Establish a vendor ecosystem with a mix of large and small players, ensuring business flexibility and adaptability.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain documentation in compliance with ISO norms.
• Develop and execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for procurement operations.
• Monitor market trends and devise technical and commercial purchase strategies.
• Work towards improving operational efficiency and contributing to the organization's common goals.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Diploma/ bachelor's degree in mechanical/ chemical/ Instrumentation/ Production Engineering.
• Proven 2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an equipment manufacturing company.
• Strong technical understanding of procurement processes and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office applications.
• Knowledge of import document processes and customs clearance.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on ensuring timely deliveries and supplier performance.
• Self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
