Protection & Control Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Documentation

  : Develop detailed engineering drawings for

  EHV

  (

  Extra High Voltage

  ) substations, including panel arrangements, one-line/three-line diagrams, and equipment wiring. You will also prepare engineering cost and man-hour estimates.

• Technical Analysis

  : Prepare calculations and reports for engineering studies, such as

  Voltage drop

  and

  AC/DC load studies

  .

• Project Coordination

  : Coordinate design activities with other departments and offices globally. You'll review designs and attend virtual meetings with clients to ensure project alignment and quality.

• Team Leadership

  : Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members. You will also participate in quality reviews and help develop new tools and workflows to increase design efficiency.

• Compliance & Standards

  : Ensure all detailed electrical substation design packages comply with required client standards and international codes like

  NESC

  ,

  IEEE

  , and

  IEC

  .

Required Qualifications

• Education

  : A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

• Experience

  : A minimum of

  3 years

  and a maximum of

  10 years of experience

  in substation design. Experience with projects in the

  US, Canada, and the UK

  is preferred.

• Technical Skills

  :
• Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Familiarity with substation automation systems based on

  IEC 61850

  .
• Knowledge of

  Relay Testing

  and control/protection scheme testing is a plus.
• Proficiency in

  AutoCAD Electrical

  and Substation

  3D Design suits
