Key Responsibilities: ­ Assist with troubleshooting operational issues related to generating units and associated equipment. Complete detailed analysis of major unit events and trips to determine root causes and necessary corrective actions. Prepare and/or provide support for the preparation of technical specifications, drawings, schematics, equipment lists and work packages. Participates in developing Generation Engineering related Mechanical engineering standards and guidelines. Accept responsibility for work by affixing professional seal to documents and drawings. Incumbent shall conduct themselves as per Hydro Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. What We’re Looking For: ­ Proven and demonstrated communication skills. Ability to thrive as a participant and/or leader within a multi-discipline team. Experience working with MS Office. What You’ll Need: ­ Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree, with a minimum of five (5) years experience since graduation. Membership or eligibility for membership with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL). Familiarity with ASME, CSA, ANSI, and IEEE Standards. We’re looking for passionate and performance focused people – people who want to make a difference for our customers and who share our values. ­ Key Responsibilities: Performs a range of semi-skilled and labor type tasks on buildings, roads, grounds, dykes, dams and structures; performs cleaning, cooking, snow removal, garbage removal, landscaping, operation of hydraulic control gates, painting, sandblasting, rigging and scaffolding. Assists in performing maintenance and repairs to corporation’s facilities, structures and grounds including carpentry, plumbing painting and masonry work. Shall staff up-country structures when required. Will be required to operate mobile equipment and to work at heights up to 130M and in confined spaces. May be required to perform tanker duties at the marine terminal and perform Type 1 asbestos removal as per provincial regulations. All other duties related to or associated with this classification. ­ What You’ll Need: High school education and three (3) years experience and training in the building trades. Completion of a certified scaffolding course Knowledge and training of the construction and operation of earth and concrete dams and the operation of diesel generator units. Knowledge and training in operation of mobile equipment and hydraulic boom operations. Shall have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules. Must possess a class 5 driver’s license.
