Proposal and Process Design Engineer

Job Description: 1. Thoroughly analyse RFQ input from the sales team and identify key requirements and customer expectations. 2. Thoroughly go through the tender specifications and prepare offer with required deviations and submittals. 3. Design and propose technical solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements while aligning with the division's manufacturing capabilities. 4. Coordinate with the sourcing team and external vendors to obtain quotations for non-standard components. 5. Provide accurate cost estimates for proposed solutions, including material costs, bought-out component costs and other relevant expenses. 6. Work closely with sales engineers, engineering, manufacturing, and QC teams to ensure the proposal is comprehensive and aligned with overall requirements. 7. Prepare and provide relevant submittals required to support the proposal. 8. Conduct Order Transfer Meetings for non-standard orders, ensuring alignment across all teams in the value chain. 9. Prepare and release technical inputs required for order execution upon Order receipt. 10. Prepare and manage budgets for every order during the execution phase. 11. Act as the single point of contact for the sales team during the pre-order and post-order stages, addressing customer queries and providing necessary technical clarifications. Critical Competencies for the Job: 1. Strong understanding of heat & mass transfer and basic engineering principles. 2. Proficiency in technical proposal preparation, tendering and cost estimation. 3. Effective interpersonal and networking skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. 4. Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. 5. Strong verbal and written English communication skills for global interactions. 6. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and basic programming knowledge (C++, VB, Excel Macros, etc.). 7. A positive attitude and commitment to providing timely support to the sales team.
