Proposal and Estimation engineer

A proposal engineer in the oil and gas industry is responsible for developing and managing the technical and commercial aspects of bids and proposals for projects. This role involves analyzing customer requirements, selecting appropriate equipment, configuring optimized solutions, and preparing detailed proposals that include cost estimates, technical specifications, and project timelines. They also play a crucial role in ensuring proposals are accurate, compliant with company standards, and competitive within the market. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyzing Customer Requirements:

• Reviewing client requests for proposals (RFQs), technical specifications, and other bid documents to understand project needs and constraints. 

• Developing Technical Solutions:

• Selecting appropriate equipment, configuring solutions, and creating detailed designs that meet the client's requirements and specifications. 

• Creating Commercial Proposals:

• Preparing cost estimates, project timelines, and other commercial documents necessary for the proposal. 

• Ensuring Accuracy and Compliance:

• Ensuring all proposals are accurate, complete, and compliant with company standards, industry regulations, and relevant codes. 

• Collaboration:

• Working closely with sales teams, engineering teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure alignment on project scope and requirements. 

• Presenting Proposals:

• Presenting proposals to clients, participating in bid clarification meetings, and addressing technical and commercial queries. 

• Knowledge Management:

• Maintaining a high level of knowledge about company products, services, and relevant industry trends. 

• Continuous Improvement:

• Identifying areas for improvement in the proposal process and contributing to the development of more efficient and effective strategies. 

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering .
• Proven experience of 4-6 years in proposal development and engineering projects, particularly within the oil and gas industry. 
• Strong technical and analytical skills, including the ability to understand and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and calculations. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. 
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as CAD software, estimation tools, and proposal management systems. 
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously. 
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
