Property Underwriter

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess and analyze complex insurance applications to determine risk classification and comparison of premium rates.

- Develop, implement, and continuously update underwriting guidelines, manuals, and internal procedures.

- Communicate with clients, agents, and internal stakeholders regarding application status, underwriting decisions, and any additional information required.

- Escalate and discuss complex cases with seniors or management for review and guidance.

- Participate in strategic discussions related to underwriting and offer valuable insights and suggestions on projects.

- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, laws, and company policies.

- Collaborate with Agents and Insurance companies to obtain necessary data, clarify terms, and negotiate better policy terms and pricing.

- Prepare Request for Quotations (RFQs) based on client needs and available data, ensuring accurate and competitive proposals.

- Review policy terms and coverages quoted by the insurance company.

- Designate and prepare insurance premiums based on informed judgment and competitor pricing

Requirements:

- Experience required minimum 2 – 3 years, preferably in the general insurance (property & casualty) sector.

- Knowledge of insurance industry standards, practices, and products.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions

- Experience in underwriting proposals with analyzing the risk and portfolio and offer better product.

- Professional certification in underwriting is preferred.
