Job Description

Project Engineer - Sales

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tender Management:

    • Prepare and compile comprehensive tender documents in compliance with customer requirements.
    • Ensure timely submission of tenders and related documents via government portals.
    • Upload tender documents on relevant e-procurement platforms (Govt. portals, procurement websites, etc.)

  • Project Coordination:

    • Act as the primary liaison between customers and the internal team to ensure project details, timelines, and requirements are understood and met.
    • Coordinate with customers to obtain necessary approvals, such as QAP (Quality Assurance Plan), QTP (Quality Test Plan), and other project documentation.

  • Government Portals & Procurement Knowledge:

    • Ensure thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant government procurement systems, portals, and tenders.
    • Monitor government portals for updates on relevant tenders and procurement opportunities.
    • Support the sales team by researching new government projects and responding to requests for quotations (RFQs).

  • Sales Support & Documentation:

    • Assist in preparing technical and commercial proposals for clients.
    • Follow up with clients and ensure all aspects of the proposal, tender, and project are moving forward as scheduled.

  • Customer Relationship Management:

    • Maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their requirements and project needs.
    • Provide ongoing support and updates to clients throughout the tender and project approval process.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Electrical or related field).
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of government procurement procedures, portals, and e-procurement systems.
  • Familiarity with preparing and submitting tender documents.
  • Experience in handling industrial capital equipment projects (sales-focused).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, government bodies, and internal teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working on government projects and tenders.
  • Experience with project management software and tendering tools.
  • Understanding of the industrial capital equipment industry and related sales processes.
