Project Research Scientist-III (Medical) (ICMR-UNNATI) Division Non Division User Contact Person HR Job Details Brief Description about the Project The study entitled India Child Growth Standards Research Initiative: A Prospective Cohort Study to Develop Growth and Development Standards in 0 to 24 months Indian Children - UNNATI , is a prospective cohort study planned to be conducted across 6 regions (North, South, East, West, Central and Nort-East) of India to develop updated growth and neurodevelopmental standards for children from 0-24 months under optimal biological, socioeconomic, and behavioral conditions. This study will measure childhood growth and development, develop normative growth curves, neurodevelopmental charts in children born in an environment without major biological, socio-behavioral, and economic constraints to growth among Indian Children 0-24 months of age. Project Research Scientist-III (Medical) Position Starting: 1st March 2025 No. of Vacancy: One Preferred Qualifications: MBBS with MD (Pediatrics / Community Medicine / Public Health) OR PhD in Public Health / Nutrition / Epidemiology with clinical research experience. Language : English, Kannada, Hindi Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in maternal and child health research, growth monitoring, or clinical trials. Strong knowledge of childhood growth standards, neurodevelopmental assessments, and paediatric health interventions. Proficiency in clinical assessments, biostatistics, and data interpretation. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with SPSS, STATA, or other data analysis software preferable. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, policymakers, and funding agencies Last Day for Receiving Application: 20th February, 2025 Location: Bangalore Roles and Responsibilities : The candidate will be responsible for overall activities of the research project at SJRI representing the South Zone of the project. Key duties include: Coordinate across regions for the data collected. Organise meetings (online), updates across the PIs and CO-Is of the other sites in different regions and with the ICMR officials. Oversee the site specific progress, the conduct of the study and to ensure that the data is collected, milestones completed in the timely manner. Obtain permissions wherever required, coordinate with the local hospitals, community health centres as per the study requirements and complete the regulatory formalities. Monitoring the training sessions, mentoring the junior research staff, field investigators, and healthcare workers involved in data collection and nurturing care counselling. Prepare progress reports, presentations, and scientific manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Contribute to policy briefs and research dissemination at national/international conferences.
