Job Title: Project Engineer / Production Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Project Engineer / Producon Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day

operaons on the shop floor in the sheet metal fabricaon unit. The role includes managing

manpower, ensuring producon targets, handling documentaon, coordinang with customers on

project-specific needs, and maintaining quality and producvity standards.

Key Responsibilies:

1. Manpower Handling

• Allocate daily work to operators based on producon plans.

• Monitor worker performance and provide guidance or training where needed.

• Ensure discipline, safety, and morale on the shop floor.

2. Customer Coordinaon (Project-wise)

• Coordinate with customers and internal departments to understand project-specific

requirements.

• Ensure mely updates and communicaon on producon status.

• Aend project review meengs and address customer concerns.

3. Documentaon

• Maintain producon logs, inspecon reports, and daily shi reports.

• Prepare and update standard operang procedures (SOPs) and work instrucons.

• Ensure compliance with ISO / quality system documentaon.

4. Report Generaon

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly producon reports.

• Generate downme analysis, producon efficiency, and quality reports.

• Track and report rework, rejecon, and scrap data.

5. Employees' Piece Rate Monitoring

• Monitor and record employee output as per piece rate norms.

• Verify and report producon against targets.

• Assist in wage calculaon based on piece-rate producvity.

6. OEE (Overall Equipment Effecveness) Calculaon

• Collect data on availability, performance, and quality.

• Analyse machine downme, speed loss, and defect rates.

• Present OEE reports to management for improvement iniaves.

7. Work Report as per Cycle Time

• Track producon against standard cycle mes.

• Idenfy bolenecks or delays in the producon process.

• Ensure adherence to me standards to meet delivery melines.

8. Producon & Quality Supervision

• Ensure adherence to quality standards during fabricaon operaons like shearing,

bending, punching, welding, etc.

• Collaborate with QC and maintenance teams for smooth operaons.

9. 5S and Safety Implementaon

• Maintain clean and organized work areas as per 5S pracces.

• Ensure all safety measures and PPE usage by staff.

Skills & Qualificaons Required:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Producon Engineering.

• 2-5 years of experience in sheet metal fabricaon industry.

• Knowledge of fabricaon processes (laser cung, punching, bending, welding).

• Hands-on experience with manpower handling and shi supervision.

• Familiarity with producon planning tools and ERP systems.

• Good MS Excel skills for reporng and data analysis.

• Basic understanding of OEE, 5S, and lean manufacturing concepts.
