Project Manager - Investment Banking

As part of the Firms growing program of work, the ISG Cross Divisional Programs Group –XPG is seeking a Program Manager / Business Analyst to lead aspects of the broader XPG project portfolio across discretionary & mandatory projects

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• The IT Project Manager role focuses on cross team projects spanning various technology groups such as development, infrastructure technology, technology security risk, and technology governance teams.
• Driving analysis and feasibility studies for potential projects
• Interaction with business, technology, operations and finance to conduct Business Analysis and documentation of current and future state solutions.
• Work closely with the business to oversee and track the portfolio of technology initiatives being delivered.
• Assist in the coordination and preparation for key governance forums such as working groups and steering committees.
• Assist in the development of implementation strategies and project plans; liaise with Project Managers to update their project schedules and provide assistance in the planning and execution of their project portfolios, milestone identification and key deliverables.
• Develop and implement strategy for the identification, tracking and subsequent monitoring of project related items including risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and associated costs and resources (RAID Log)
• Interaction with other technology silos, operations, finance and risk teams to coordinate testing, and deployment.
• Work with global / regional counterparts to provide synergies between regions and ensure the compliance with global best practices.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 8+ years professional experience, preferably at a major management consulting firm or financial institution, technical background/understanding preferable
• Knowledge of the financial services industry, within an investment bank with sales and trading, finance, and technology
• Overall experience in hands-on project management, specifically in supporting financial services technology-related projects
• Strong communication skills – the candidate must demonstrate the ability to liaise confidently with both internal and external business stakeholders, as well as possessing excellent customer service expertise
• Proven ability to work proactively, creatively & analytically in a fast-paced, extremely complex environment
• Ability to take ownership of tasks and projects, able to work within a global team, and manage time and tasks effectively & independently

Domain knowledge and/or project experience desirable in two or more of the following:

• Front-back trade lifecycle fundamentals – with key focus on Front-office trading
• Fixed Income or Equity product knowledge
• Key principles of software development lifecycle (SDLC) (Agile & waterfall / hybrid project methodologies)
