Job Description

Job Title: Engineering Manager/Project Manager - Rebar Detailing Department: Engineering/Projects Summary: The Engineering Manager/Project Manager - Rebar Detailing will lead and oversee the rebar detailing team, ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely production of rebar shop drawings and schedules. This role requires a deep understanding of rebar detailing practices, industry standards, and project requirements, coupled with the ability to manage team, optimize workflows, and deliver high-quality results within budget and schedule constraints. Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Management: Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of rebar detailers. Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and conduct performance reviews. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment. Resolve conflicts and address team concerns. Identify training needs and provide opportunities for professional development. Technical Expertise & Quality Control: Possess a strong understanding of rebar detailing principles, codes and best practices. Review and approve shop drawings and schedules for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications. Implement and enforce quality control procedures. Stay updated on the latest industry standards and technologies related to rebar detailing. Project Management: Plan and schedule rebar detailing activities for multiple projects. Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of shop drawings and schedules. Manage project budgets and resources effectively. Identify and mitigate potential risks and delays. Communicate project status updates to stakeholders. Coordinate with other disciplines (e.g., structural engineers, contractors) to resolve clashes and ensure seamless integration of rebar detailing with the overall project. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve rebar detailing processes and workflows. Implement new technologies and tools to enhance efficiency and productivity. Develop and maintain rebar detailing standards and procedures. Software Proficiency: Be proficient in rebar detailing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla Structures etc). Ensure the team is effectively utilizing the software and maximizing its capabilities. Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements and address their concerns. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Minimum of [10] years of experience in rebar detailing, with at least [4] years in a leadership role. Strong understanding of rebar detailing codes and standards. Proficiency in rebar detailing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla Structures). Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage a team and deliver projects on time and within budget. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a plus.
