Job Description

You will be responsible for providing technical leadership and making critical technical decisions related to the design, development, and implementation of complex engineering projects. Your main responsibilities will include ensuring project requirements are clearly defined and effectively communicated, identifying and addressing project risks and issues, collaborating with project managers and other team leaders for effective project coordination within the budget, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team, providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members, developing and monitoring projects/department KPIs, staying updated on industry trends to drive technical innovation, collaborating with stakeholders to identify project goals and objectives, maintaining excellent customer service by responding promptly to customer inquiries, ensuring adherence to best practices in engineering design, project management, and quality assurance, and promoting compliance with standards, regulations, and company policies. Additionally, during the first year of employment, you will be required to travel to different locations like Korea, China, and the US for up to 100 days to gain necessary experience, including sailing and onshore activities. Your authorities will include conducting performance evaluations, providing feedback to team members, reviewing/approving timecard entries, work order assignments, and PTO requests. The position will supervise project engineers within the team as assigned by the Director, Engineering. Your work environment will be in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones. The physical demands of the job include talking or hearing regularly, with specific vision abilities required and the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, extensive 5 years of experience in Marine engineering project management, a strong technical background and expertise in relevant engineering disciplines, excellent leadership skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, and knowledge of industry best practices, regulations, and emerging trends in engineering.
