As a Design Engineer at Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases, you will play a crucial role in implementing project designs and enhancing existing products following department procedures. Under the guidance of the project team plans, your responsibilities will revolve around researching, evaluating products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability. Your role will entail ensuring the fit, form, and function of designs, collaborating with various departments to ensure the production and packaging of final products align with customer specifications and ACD procedures. Your essential functional responsibilities will include designing, modeling, and testing prototypes for products, conducting research to create design proposals, and establishing concepts, performance, and production criteria. You will be tasked with identifying and selecting materials required for production, producing final hand drawings and specifications, and creating parts lists while ensuring value engineering practices are integrated into the designs. Additionally, you will participate in planning marketing initiatives, negotiate production processes, and evaluate products and processes for cost efficiency and reliability. Utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) tools, you will create concepts, and layout pumps and systems while adhering to department processes and procedures. Your role will involve providing feedback and ideas for process improvements, participating in design reviews, raising Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), and supporting manufacturing and assembly teams.
