What this job involves:
Being the backbone of construction projects
Youll oversee all day-to-day construction-related projects onsite and make sure that all budget, risk, schedule, design, safety and quality management requirements are met. As the go-to person in all construction activities, youll help fix any issues that may ariseall while taking heed of clients expectations and the companys procedures.
Your task is to ensure all site contractors involved in the project are working on all counts and with telling effect. As needed, you will also cooperate with project stakeholders and the client to monitor, review and resolve any site-related issues. Using the JLL Project Toolkit platform, youll set up site procedures to ensure the program, cost, design, safety and quality are aligned. Youll also be responsible for holding internal and external construction meetings.
Planning successful outcomes
As a construction manager, you will be the sole in charge of construction work at site. Youll need to prepare a master construction schedule for site along with planning and documentation team.
As a Part of your role you need to review all pending issues with the site team to steer clear of any communication gaps and develop action plans as soon as possible. Youll also conduct weekly project review meetings with consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders to review the progress per agreed schedule and proactively follow up on all pending issues. Likewise, youll review the sites progress payments to make sure claims from subcontractors/contractors reflect the actual progress.
Mastering technical management and communication
In this role, youll take the lead and track the progress of coordination drawings submitted by design consultants, and to get a hold of and follow up drawings, details, or clarifications, as needed. Youll then need to review these drawings to make sure theyre foolproof. Youll also manage the technical handover and the clients sign off at the end of a project. Equally, youll review the work method statement from subcontractors/contractors. On top of these, youll also review VOs and make sure theyre validated; set up the site diary and record system; and other duties, as directed.
Clearing safety and quality hurdles
This role calls for a champion for safety and quality management. Part of your responsibilities is to review the RFP documentation from a constructability point of view, provide the work scope; make sure that you go over safe work method statements by contractors/subcontractors; hold safety meetings on a weekly basis; take care of monthly health and safety reports; and make sure that the construction works match the clients expectations.

Seasoned and credentialed
You have a degree in architectural, civil engineering, MEP engineering, or related discipline or field, or a mix of formal education and work experience of more than five years. Experience in construction site management is a must.
Highly technical and administrative
A strong understanding of all aspects of development management financial, appraisal, risk management, and negotiation, among othersis required for this role. Do you consider yourself a pro at planning projects, procedures, and construction schedules How familiar are you with MS Project, MS Excel and other scheduling software
You should also have the know-how of interpreting, coordinating, and discussing construction drawings. As construction manager design management, contracts and commercial negotiations should already be second nature to you. Also, you are also responsible for implementation of inhouse construction monitoring technology tools like openspace and other technology that gets added time to time.
An excellent communicator
To excel in this role, you should have a good communication & interpersonal skill, which will be helpful to you in winning businesses with both international and domestic clients. Your great communication skills will also serve as a tool in inspiring your members and contractors; keeping healthy client relationships alive; making headways in promoting a culture of openness; and bringing on project success stories.
