Project Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Real Estate and Property Acquisition Responsibilities

• Understanding brand requirements and Identification of suitable premises for retail or appropriate real estate.
• Negotiating with owners, landlords for financial and other terms of lease/ purchase.
• Knowledge of real estate prices.
• Ability to conduct due diligence of property documents.
• Ability to understand location pros and cons.
• Developing confidential discussions with highest integrity and honesty.

1. Project Execution and Coordination Responsibilities

• Liaison with architects, designers, contractors, VM and other providers, to deliver high quality quick projects for the company.
• Cost negotiations, scientific costing of materials and projects.
• Sampling, purchase order creations on vVsion systems, project management capability for deadline and quality and specification adherence.
• Supervision and accurate reporting to Management.
• Taking ownership for delivery.

1. Project Closure and Maintenance Management

• Maintenance and sustainability of project post completion.
• Snag corrections.
• Payment controls and bills checking capability.
• Liaisons with professional project management experts if reqd.

1. New Store Development & Renovation:

• Plan, schedule, and execute all activities related to new showroom openings and renovations.
• Prepare project timelines, cost estimates, and material specifications.
• Coordinate with architects, designers, and vendors to ensure compliance with design and brand standards.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to timelines.
• Manage government and statutory approvals related to store construction or renovation.

1. Interior and Fit-Out Works:

• Supervise execution of interior design, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing works.
• Ensure materials and finishes meet design intent and quality expectations.
• Verify vendor bills, material usage, and workmanship quality.
• Resolve on-site technical or design-related issues promptly.

1. Maintenance of Existing Infrastructure:

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of existing showrooms, offices, and other properties.
• Ensure minimal downtime and quick resolution of maintenance issues.

1. Budgeting & Cost Control:

• Prepare and monitor project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, BOQs, and cost reports.
• Verify contractor invoices and manage vendor payments in coordination with finance.

1. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination:

• Identify and evaluate vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
• Manage tendering, negotiations, and contract finalisation.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Retail, IT, Facility, Security, HR) for project requirements

1. Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure adherence to safety, statutory, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain documentation for audits, licenses, and regulatory inspections.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering / Interior Design / Architecture.
• 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in retail, corporate, or commercial infrastructure projects.
• Experience in handling end-to-end retail store projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MEP, civil, and interior works.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and Excel.
