Production Manager

Role & responsibilities

1. Plan, organize, and monitor production activities to achieve daily and monthly targets as per schedule and quality standards.

2. Coordinate with Design, Purchase, and QC departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.

3. Maintain ISO documentation and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 standards in all production operations.

4. Implement safety systems, conduct toolbox meetings, and ensure adherence to all statutory and factory safety regulations.

5. Review production performance, monitor machine utilization, and minimize downtime through effective planning and maintenance coordination.

6. Maintain production records, material consumption, and manpower reports for management review.

7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Lean practices, and waste reduction.

8. Ensure high discipline, housekeeping, and safety culture on the shop floor.

9. Provide guidance and leadership to supervisors and operators for productivity improvement and skill enhancement.

10. Participate in internal audits, client visits, and support new product or prototype development activities.

11. Coordinate with HR & Admin for manpower planning and statutory compliance related to labour and safety.

12. Should have strong knowledge and practical exposure in hydraulic cylinders manufacturing and assembly operations.

Preferred candidate profile

1. B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

2. Minimum 14 years of experience in heavy engineering or hydraulic manufacturing, with at least 35 years in a supervisory/managerial role.

3. Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing systems.

4. Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.

5. Hands-on experience in production planning, resource allocation, and ERP-based production tracking.

6. Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance operational efficiency.

7. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and statutory compliance, with knowledge of Factories Act and labour regulations.
