Production Manager

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily production activities to achieve set targets (volume, cost, quality, and timelines).
  • Manage and monitor shift-wise operations including manpower, raw material usage, and machine efficiency.
  • Implement and enforce

    Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SOPs, and safety protocols

    in line with industry standards.
  • Coordinate with

    Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and HR

    teams to ensure smooth functioning of plant operations.
  • Track and analyze

    production KPIs

    such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), wastage, downtime, and yield.
  • Drive

    process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and lean manufacturing practices.

  • Manage statutory compliance, EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) guidelines, and labor regulations.
  • Lead, train, and motivate production staff to achieve high productivity and maintain discipline.
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly

    MIS reports

    for management review.
  • Handle audits (internal, statutory, and client) and ensure adherence to compliance norms.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Education:

    B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering OR Diploma with strong experience.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 10-12

    years

    in Production Management in

    Tobacco / FMCG / Food Processing

    industries. (Immediate joiners will be preferred)

  • Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of

    production planning, process control, and quality systems

    .
  • Familiarity with

    lean, TPM, Kaizen, Six Sigma

    methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience in handling

    high-speed packaging and processing machines

    .
