Job Description: Production Incharge Jaggery Production

Location: Belgaum, Karnataka

Department: Production

Reports To: Plant Head / Operations Manager

Role Summary

The Production Incharge will be responsible for end-to-end supervision of jaggery production activities, ensuring consistent quality, optimized productivity, compliance with safety standards, and effective workforce management. The role demands hands-on expertise in traditional and mechanized jaggery processing, maintaining hygiene standards, and meeting production targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise daily jaggery production activities to meet output targets.
  • Monitor raw material (sugarcane) quality and ensure efficient utilization in production.
  • Oversee operations of boiling, clarification, concentration, and molding stages of jaggery production.
  • Ensure product quality standards (color, texture, taste, hygiene) are maintained as per company guidelines.
  • Manage workforce allocation, shift planning, and labor productivity.
  • Coordinate with procurement team for timely supply of sugarcane, fuel, and consumables.
  • Implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hygiene, and safety protocols in the production unit.
  • Conduct regular equipment maintenance checks and coordinate with maintenance team to reduce downtime.
  • Maintain production records, batch sheets, and daily reporting of output, wastage, and efficiency.
  • Optimize fuel and energy usage to reduce production costs.
  • Train and supervise production workers for skill enhancement and process compliance.
  • Support R&D or process improvement initiatives for better yield and product diversification (jaggery powder, liquid jaggery, etc.).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Diploma / B.Sc. / B.Tech in Food Technology, Agriculture, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
    • Experience: 4-7 years in jaggery production / sugarcane processing / food processing industry. • Strong understanding of jaggery production techniques, equipment handling, and quality parameters. • Experience in supervising labor-intensive operations. • Knowledge of safety, hygiene, and GMP compliance in food production.
