Responsibilities: Strategic Production Planning & Management: Develop and implement comprehensive production plans and strategies aligned with organizational goals, sales forecasts, and inventory objectives. Oversee the entire production process from raw material receipt to finished goods dispatch, ensuring optimal workflow and resource utilization (manpower, machinery, materials). Monitor production output, analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), identify deviations, and implement timely corrective and preventive actions. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Operational Excellence & Efficiency: Drive and champion continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S principles, to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize cycle times. Identify and implement best practices in manufacturing processes, equipment utilization, and operational procedures. Troubleshoot and resolve complex operational issues and bottlenecks to ensure smooth production flow. Explore and recommend automation opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Quality Control & Assurance: Collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance Department to establish, implement, and maintain stringent quality control standards and procedures throughout the production cycle. Ensure all manufactured products meet specified quality benchmarks, customer expectations, and comply with relevant certifications (e.g., ISO, product-specific standards). Lead root cause analysis for quality defects and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment by strictly adhering to all industrial safety norms, local regulations (e.g., Factories Act, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board guidelines), and company safety policies. Lead and promote a proactive safety culture, conduct regular safety audits, and organize safety training programs for all production personnel. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainable manufacturing practices. Team Leadership & Workforce Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a large team of production personnel, including managers, supervisors, and shop floor operators. Conduct performance evaluations, identify skill gaps, and implement training and development programs to enhance the capabilities of the workforce. Manage labor relations effectively, fostering a motivated, disciplined, and engaged team. Oversee workforce planning, including recruitment, scheduling, and absenteeism management. Cost Management & Budgeting: Develop and manage the production budget, controlling operational costs, optimizing material consumption, and reducing wastage. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or safety. Monitor and control variable costs related to production (e.g., energy, consumables). Maintenance & Inter-departmental Coordination: Work in close coordination with the Maintenance Department to ensure timely preventive maintenance and swift resolution of machinery breakdowns to minimize production downtime. Collaborate effectively with Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, Sales, and Human Resources departments to ensure seamless operations, alignment of objectives, and efficient resource allocation. Reporting & Communication: Prepare comprehensive production reports, performance dashboards, and forecasts for senior management, providing actionable insights. Present key operational data, challenges, and proposed solutions during management reviews. Fluency in Marathi and Hindi is crucial for effective communication with the local workforce, shop floor management, and interaction with local vendors/authorities. Excellent English proficiency is essential for high-level management discussions, strategic planning, and formal documentation.
