Job Description

A production engineer leads and optimizes manufacturing processes by improving efficiency, implementing quality control, mentoring junior staff, and driving continuous improvement initiatives like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. Their responsibilities include managing production schedules, analyzing data to reduce costs and maximize productivity, troubleshooting complex production issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. They also collaborate with design, engineering, and other departments, oversee technical documentation, and provide strategic input for long-term manufacturing success.
Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization:

Analyze and improve existing production processes to increase efficiency, maximize productivity, and reduce costs.

  • Quality Control:

Implement and maintain quality control systems and protocols to ensure products meet high standards and specifications.

  • Troubleshooting:

Conduct root cause analysis and resolve complex production issues, including equipment breakdowns.

  • Mentorship & Training:

Train, mentor, and guide junior engineers and production staff, sharing knowledge and best practices.

  • Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement long-term strategies for manufacturing, innovation, and process improvement, including safety protocols.

  • Project & Resource Management:

Plan and oversee production schedules, manage resource allocation, and oversee new equipment sourcing and implementation.

  • Collaboration:

Work closely with design, engineering, maintenance, and supply chain teams to ensure product manufacturability and seamless operations.

  • Compliance:

Ensure all production operations adhere to safety regulations, environmental policies, and industry standards.

  • Documentation:

Create and maintain detailed production documentation, standards, and reports for management.
Should be able to make costing for PartsProficient in Computer Skills like Excel, Word and PPT

  • Leadership:

Lead and manage engineering teams, provide technical expertise, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Mechanical or a related field is often required.

  • Experience:

Significant experience in production engineering or a leadership role (Exp- 10-12 Years) within a sheet metal Tier 1 Auto component making Company

  • Methodologies:

Proven experience with continuous improvement methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.

  • Technical Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, proficiency with production management software, and knowledge of CAD/CAM tools.

  • Soft Skills:

Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and teamwork skills
