Production Artist

As a Production Artist, your role involves a variety of responsibilities to ensure the smooth flow of artwork production and meeting client specifications. Here's a breakdown of your key tasks: - Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, specifications, workflow diagrams, and SOPs. - Ensure all artworks are saved in designated file locations on the server with the appropriate document control file naming specifications. - Participate in process improvement efforts and production meetings to contribute positively to the business. - Possess the ability to learn and develop within a team environment through direct mentorship. During the pre-flight and organization of incoming jobs, your tasks will include: - Checking customer-supplied files against hard copies for differences and size conformity. - Aligning job instructions with supplied artwork and/or references. - Verifying colors used and checking the resolution of any CTs. In the production art phase, you will: - Receive product definitions from sales, project managers, or production managers. - Manipulate files to match customer specifications. - Adjust art to meet minimum type and line thickness based on different printing types and client requirements. - Assign color builds and Pantone ink swatches to art elements. - Apply art to printer-supplied die drawings. - Create line extension mechanical art from supplied brief or elements. - Create/manipulate artwork to comply with regulatory specifications. - Organize files in defined job folder and server structure, ensuring proper preparation for archiving upon project completion. - Output proofs as needed for internal checks and customer review and approval.
