Product Security Specialist

As a Product Security Engineer at SAP, your role involves consulting development and product teams on product security functionalities, standards, and S2DL process requirements. You will be responsible for translating business and legal/privacy requirements into actionable technical controls and developer guidance. Your key responsibilities include: - Analyzing and designing end-to-end security architecture for new and existing products/components - Reviewing security requirements and designs for compliance and risk reduction - Executing secure SDLC activities such as threat modeling, secure requirements/design review, secure code review, dynamic/manual testing, penetration testing, and security validation - Identifying, assessing, and addressing threats and vulnerabilities - Evaluating cross-application risks and coordinating remediation and patching - Implementing, integrating, and operating security tooling - Supporting compliance and privacy activities - Developing and maintaining security processes, documentation, playbooks, and workflows - Acting as a liaison between development and security - Researching emerging security risks and technologies - Contributing to security operations and incident response - Mentoring junior team members and delivering training/learning content Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related STEM disciplines with a specialization in security - 5-7 years of programming and application development experience - At least 1.5 years of experience in security engineering - Knowledge of secure programming practices, product security standards, and S2DL processes - Understanding of threat modeling, common application security risks, and vulnerability management - Proficiency in security tools and procedures - Pragmatic, goal-oriented approach with strong prioritization skills - Fluent spoken and written English communication skills - Programming skills in at least one programming language The team you will be joining is the Private Cloud organization within SAP Product & Engineering, responsible for developing a portfolio of application products. The team provides sustenance and engineering services while possessing deep product and market expertise in the Private Cloud and RISE with SAP journey. Your contributions will support the team in transitioning installed-base customers to the SAP Business Suite and driving the adoption of innovations like AI.
