Product Regulatory Compliance Engineer

Position Title: Product Compliance Engineer Technical Market Access Location: Chennai, India Department: Technical Market Access Experience Required: 5+ years Industry Preferred: Major Domestic Appliances (MDA) / Home Appliances About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced Product Compliance Engineer to join our Technical Market Access team in India. This role requires in-depth knowledge of product regulations, Indian and IEC standards, and product testing—preferably within the home appliances sector. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background, regulatory expertise, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset to support compliance efforts in India and the ASEAN region. Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance: Ensure local compliance with Technical Market Access legal requirements, as well as BSH global and local policies, standards, and regulations across India and ASEAN countries. Standards Implementation: Collaborate with global teams to implement and monitor processes ensuring conformity of products (produced or sold) in the Indian market. Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records of technical market access requirements in the BSH homologation database. Regulatory Representation: Represent BSH’s interests in industry associations and with regulatory authorities by formulating and advocating company positions on local standards and regulations. Market Surveillance: Address market surveillance notifications from regulatory bodies and coordinate necessary internal responses. Factory Inspections: Manage factory inspection processes and compliance with regulatory agency requirements. Preferred Candidate Profile Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or a related discipline. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in product regulatory and compliance functions, preferably in the home appliances industry. Required Skills Solid technical foundation in Electrical/Electronics Engineering. Strong understanding of product regulatory compliance processes. Familiarity with BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) regulations. Experience with BIS certification and renewal for factory operations. Ability to interpret and implement national and international standards. Knowledge of safety and energy efficiency testing for home appliances. Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Self-driven, organized, and adaptable with an agile mindset. Strong communication skills and proven intercultural collaboration experience. Fluency in English , Hindi , and Tamil is essential.
