Serve as a Product Owner and support in domain-focused testing.

• Analyzing software product development, writing requirements, and software specifications
• Engaging with customers and business partners throughout the development lifecycle
• Participating in agile activities, including product demonstrations, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and sprint planning
• Cross-checking that all requirements are met through extensive domain testing (manual)
• Detailed documentation of requirements with clear acceptance criteria
• Supporting the verification of software products/applications at different development stages
• Ensuring traceability among Customer Wants, Customer Requirements, Product Requirements, and Product Specifications

• Serve as a customer advocate and ensure the quality and usability of our software
• Collaborate with globally distributed teams
• Act as a domain expert to the development team
• Work closely with fellow teams and product managers to grasp and offer suggestions for product requirements
• Analyze and develop domain test plans and protocols for AWS/Web-based scientific analysis software
• Guide team members and other staff in test techniques and methods
• Participate in project-wide reviews of requirements, system architecture, and detailed build discussions
• Clearly convey testing activities and results through verbal and written means
• Perform and coordinate QA activities such as test planning, test building, preparation of traceability matrix, test execution, test results analysis, and reporting
• Maintain an excellent knowledge base of industry trends and developments
• Represent the team in cross-organizational development forums, customer requirements gathering, and software validation and training sessions
• Apply deep expertise and discernment to comprehend and address intricate issues effectively
• Provide functional and technical support and leadership to colleagues
• Participate in training and orienting new test engineers as they join the team

Minimum Qualifications (must have)

• Experience in Agile development
• Experience in Bioinformatics, such as next-generation sequencing and assay development
• M.Sc/PhD/MS in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or equivalent
• Ability to review, synthesize, and present scientific data and methods
• 3+ years experience in computer programming or scripting with modern software architecture understanding
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, and a dedication to the mission of the institution

Preferred Qualifications (nice to have)

• Experience in one of the languages: Python, Perl, Linux/Unix scripting
• Experience working within an Agile development process (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc.). Agile certification is a big plus
• Outstanding oral and written communication proficiencies to articulate technical information to business and technology teams with clarity and precision
