Product Engineering Research & Development

Role Overview: As an Assistant Manager in Product Engineering within the Research & Development department at a leading company specializing in Engineering solutions & services globally, your primary responsibility will be to design and develop Surge arresters/Insulators. You will play a crucial role in the product development process, ensuring that customer requirements are met and design features are of the highest quality. Key Responsibilities: - Lead design reviews in the product development process, aligning customer requirements with critical design features. - Collaborate with a cross-functional team to evaluate design concepts for cost, lead time, quality, standardization, supply assurance, and compliance with various requirements. - Assist the new product development team with rapid prototyping, testing, and validation of prototype samples. - Develop and implement comprehensive test plans to ensure products meet customer specifications. - Work closely with the manufacturing department to optimize product designs for manufacturability and assembly. - Previous experience in industries related to energy and power sectors is preferred. - Proficiency in product design principles such as DFSS, APQP, etc. is desirable. - Demonstrable expertise in 2D/3D CAD software and understanding of FEA simulation software like Ansys, Nastran, and Comsol is required. - Good knowledge of engineering materials, applications, and industry standards is essential. Qualification Required: - M.E./MTech./BTech./B.E. in Electricals. - 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in the design and development of LV to EHV Electrical products, especially Surge arresters/Insulators.
